Character Education
Suttle Freeman will help students understand how to positively harness their thoughts, actions and feelings. We develop students’ understanding of and commitment to behave with core ethical values with the use of a curriculum that promotes fundamental civic and community values. Topics include building self-esteem, community building, moral reflection, team cooperation, compassion, and self-worth.
College and Career Readiness (ES, MS, HS)
Suttle Freeman builds the foundation for post-secondary success by introducing a full range of knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level college courses and a range of majors and careers. Our College and Career Readiness Enrichment Program covers age-appropriate targets for core content areas coupled with instruction in research, cross-disciplinary studies, and foundational cognitive skills. Throughout the course, students will produce and design documents and projects, problem-solve across content areas, draw complex inferences, understand a variety of work habits, and exercise academic integrity.
Computer Coding (ES)
Suttle Freeman builds the basics of programming. Students are inspired to solve challenges that involve various advanced math concepts that promise fun and adventure! Sample lessons include x and y values on a coordinate plane, angles, vectors, and variables. Throughout this experience, students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology.
Creative Writing (ES, MS, HS)
Move to the music and glide to the rhyme. This creative writing experience is right on time! Here, your child will effortlessly tackle the perplexity of poetry and turn confusion into curiosity. With our unorthodox approach, students will be challenged with creating stunning sonnets that sing all while vibing to vivacious verses that help them pen perfect poetic performances that leap off the page. Here, we will: examine age-appropriate popular music culture to understand author’s craft, rhyme scheme, sound devices, and structural elements such as stanzas. Explore specific forms of poetry, including free verse, lyrical, narrative, and limericks. Understand poetic structural elements including rhythm, rhyme, and tonal quality. Apply language that creates imagery and emotion throughout the text.
DJ Science (HS)
Music is a universal language, and our DJ science class helps prepare students with the basic skill set necessary for employment as a live-performance disc jockey (DJ). Our program is designed to provide the student with the technical skills required for a successful performance or production such as sampling, looping and truncating. Students will be able to analyze musical content for social and cultural significance, understand intellectual property rights, and develop and demonstrate the skills required to create a diverse musical experience for listeners.
Financial Literacy (HS)
Allow your child to go mad for the mathematics of money as they are immersed in all things fun & financial! Games and challenges are designed to strengthen knowledge of basic and advanced mathematical skills and financial literacy while encouraging problem solving.

Students will:Understand and explain the connection between labor and income, create and balance a simple budget, explain the difference between gross and net income, understand how availability/scarcity of resources impacts cost, and more!
Fine Arts (Folkloric Dance) (ES, M,S HS)
Folk dance is one of the strongest ways to showcase cultural traditions of countries and regions. In this enrichment course, students will understand, apply, and build dance technique by practicing basic skills of creative movement, dance genres, styles, or forms. Students will also understand and apply proper performer, audience, and classroom behavior while analyzing and evaluating the differences in dances through historical periods as communicated through dance movement.
Fine Arts (Hip Hop) (ES, MS, HS)
Suttle Freeman instructors empower students with the history of Hip Hop culture beyond the four elements (DJing, MCing, breakdancing, and graffiti). Students will learn the history and evolution of Hip Hop while simultaneously understanding dance terminology, sub-styles and techniques, the art of battling, freestyle expression, and Hip Hops influence on world culture. Students will also learn and perform choreographed routines rooted in Hip Hop expression.
Fine Arts (Photography) (ES, MS, HS)
Students will understand the study of working with subjects and light as an introduction to professional photography. As they become aware of the difference between quality/quantity of light and hard/soft shadows, students will then learn the essential components of a camera and how those parts work together to create the exposure triangle. Students will apply this foundational knowledge as they explore the art of photography to capture beautiful photos. Enrichment activities also highlight photography as a career and how to earn consistent income.
Fine Arts (Theatre Arts) (ES, MS)
Students will identify the principles of theatre and understand improvisation, safe use of voice and body, and create meaningful characters. Suttle Freeman will help students unleash creativity and use physical, intellectual, and emotional awareness to portray believable characters, write powerful monologues, and deliver vignettes that convey meaning to their audience. This enrichment experience culminates with a live performance.
Foreign Language (Spanish) (ES)
Suttle Freeman will ensure students demonstration and understanding of culturally authentic print, digital, audio, and audiovisual materials in everyday contexts. Students will also be able to describe people, objects, and simple situations orally and in writing using a mixture of words, phrases, and simple sentences.
Hands-On Science (ES, MS, HS)
Students will engage in Problem-Based Learning Projects that engage students in designing, building, and completing missions that simulate challenges that arise in our ever-changing world. Furthermore, the PBLs will incorporate innovative solutions for what can be done when unexpected events meet the places where people live, work, and play.
Our sessions are hands-on, minds-on and team-based to naturally encourage the application of real-world language arts, math and science concepts. Additionally, sessions focus on important foundational knowledge in areas of computer science, physics, engineering, and technology.
Homework Assistance (ES, MS, HS)
Students will receive homework support in all core content areas. Instructors will guide students through common misconceptions, reinforce critical thinking skills, and empower students to navigate complex concepts with confidence. This service includes a minimum of 12 weekly visits per semester during the school day.
Leadership Development (MS, HS)
We mold the leaders of tomorrow by focusing on the foundational skills necessary to build confident communicators. Our program focuses on decision-making, stress and time management, cultural competence, team building, and conflict resolution. Students will apply learned skills to real-world scenarios and engage in project based learning activities that support the core components of leadership.
Mentoring (ES, MS, HS)
Suttle Freeman engages youth in high impact topics including goal setting, life skills, and career pathways while simultaneously serving as positive role models who embody the core characteristics of culturally competent upstanding citizens. In this program, instructors build meaningful relationships with students through games, written expression, and reenactments of real-world scenarios.
Reading/Writing Labs (ES, MS, HS)
Our reading and writing labs reinforce critical core skills like inferencing, varied sentence structure, and overall comprehension through the use of gamification and hands-on activities that bring concepts to life! Students will read, think, and write critically on a variety of engaging topics while igniting their creativity and exploring their identity.
Robotics (ES, MS, HS)
Our Robotics sessions help students apply their knowledge of problem-solving by building a programmable robot using relevant software. Participation in this enrichment experience guides students through concepts such as physics, distance, and measurement. We incorporate robot challenges which inspire team work and motivation towards a common goal. By the end of the experience, students understand the intricate details of building a functional robot with raw materials.
SAT/ACT Preparation (MS, HS)
Students will engage in evidence-based reading and writing lessons organized around the key skills and concepts tested on the SAT and ACT reading, English and writing components Our math lessons include algebra, problem solving and data analysis, and advanced mathematical concepts. Each student will receive a pre and post SAT/ACT examinations to track growth from start to finish.
STEM (ES, MS, HS)
Our STEM Education Program encourages problem-solving, creativity and collaboration—all foundational supports for student success within and beyond the workforce. We focus on varied elements of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, creating a landscape for students to deeply understand the possibilities within each area of study.
Storytelling (ES)
At Suttle Freeman, the art of Storytelling is brought to life through the presentation of techniques that swiftly capture the audience’s attention. Students will learn how to tell compelling stories that strengthen their written and oral skills. Leaning on the art of embellishment and improvisation, instructors will infuse student knowledge of fact and narrative with show-stopping skills that captivate a variety of audiences.
